Luminaries
Light up your walkway or drive way with candle luminaries on Christmas Eve. Luminaries are sold at Rogers Hardware in downtown Sparta for 10 candles and bags for $5.00. All proceeds of the luminary sales benefit the Old Fashioned Christmas events.
Christmas Light Contest
Share your family’s decorating tradition by entering Sparta’s Christmas Light Contest! Sparta area residents need to register by Dec. 1st to be a contestant. Prizes! After Dec. 1st voting form & maps of the participating homes can found at Momber Pharmacy, ChoiceOne Bank, Rogue River Credit Union or Independent Bank or at www.spartahistory.org. Join in on a late night shopping event in downtown Sparta before the holiday rush begins! Carriage rides, free gift wrapping, tree lighting ceremony, & much more!
Santa Cops
Want to help local families in need this year? Santa Cops are collecting new, unwrapped cold wear apparel such as gloves, hats, scarves, winter boots, children’s clothing, & blankets, in addition to toys & gift cards. Sparta Police Officers will deliver the gifts to deserving children & Senior Citizens in the Sparta Area to spread Holiday Cheer. Donations accepted Nov. 15 – Dec. 10, 2011 at Momber Pharmacy, Sparta Police Dept., ChoiceOne Bank, Independent Bank, & Rogue River Credit Union. Contact Sparta Police for more details 887-8716.
