Sparta Boy Scouts Remember on Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a day to remember all those that gave their services and lives to protect or avenge the United States of America. Sparta’s Boy Scout Troop 704 was proud to place American Flags at the headstones of those who served in the military and are now resting in the three village cemeteries.

On May 28th, Dustin Yocum and Carter VerSluys of Troop 704 brought the Flag to half-staff; while Cody Havens from Troop 704 and Joel Ignasiak of Sparta’s Troop 280 placed the wreath of remembrance at the Memorial Service hosted by the American Legion Post 107 at Lamoreaux Park. On behalf of Sparta’s Boy Scouts, we would like to say Thank You to those who gave the ultimate price for our freedom.
