The Pizza Contest
The Sparta Masonic Lodge held a competition for Sparta to “officially” determine who has the BEST Pizza in Sparta during the Town & Country Days Fair this year.
Martin Oliver, the Junior Deacon of the lodge, originally put this project together to further reach out and support the community and the local businesses in 2008.
Last year all 7 of Sparta’s Pizza establishments donated their pizza of choice. There was a tie between the newer, B C Pizza, owned by Todd Dailey, and the older Vitale’s owned by Jerry Saenz.
In 2009, the competition only had 4 of the 6 pizza establishments in Sparta participate. Those that did make their way into the competition included BC Pizza, Hungry Howies, The Garden Patch, & Little Caesars Pizza.
The competition was a great success as the Town & Country Day visitors came to test their taste buds! After the pizza ran out, the winner was announced, and for the second year in a row BC Pizza took home the trophy for the Best Tasting Pizza in Sparta. BC Pizza has been named the BEST food 4 years running by the Sparta High School students in their year book.
So we, the members of the Sparta Masonic Lodge #334, want to thank and congratulate all the participants and BC Pizza, the winner for two years running, for their continued dedication to the Village of Sparta in providing quality pizza to hungry residents!
Good luck next year to all, until then knead that dough and pile on the toppings!
